Please do not wash merino wool projects. You can hand wash using lukewarm water and a very mild soap or Wool specific detergents. Otherwise, we strongly recommend you dry clean anything you have purchased or made with our yarn. Also, be aware that some shedding and pilling is normal at first and should significantly decrease over time. Just pull them gently side to side and they will come off. This is a natural part of the wool fibers grabbing onto each other. Part of the reason that wool can be used unspun is because the fibers cling together naturally. So, part of the joy of having the fluffy springiness is having some rebel strands that won't stay with the pack. Remember, Yarn is sheep's wool and actually behaves a lot like a sweater. If you find you have an exceptionally fluffy blanket, you can help tame the frizz by laying it out flat and picking off any big or well formed pills. Then lightly (seriously - lightly) spritz water over it. Take a piece of plastic wrap and gently rub it along the blanket, going with the fibers. once the water mist isn't visible, let it sit and dry for a little while. Then you can do the same on the reverse.

Estimating a Project - Large Knit Merino Wool Blankets / Throws Stitch size - For the Super Chunky Merino Throw Yarn stitches are about 3 inches long and 1.75 - 2 inches wide. This should be used to determine how many stitches wide your project should be. For example, if you want a throw / blanket that is 40 inches by 60 inches, we recommend 18 - 22 stitches as the number of stitches you cast on, or start with. For that same blanket, you would have approximately 20 rows. What to expect! We do sell in grams (with lb conversion noted) with 250g or 1/2 pound (lb) skeins the minimum order. We make every effort to keep the yarn dye lot continuous if it is possible to do so. However, there may be some instantces where the colours do not match 100%. We offer 40 colour options - however, we can custom order a specific colour if required. Please note that custom orders have longer delviery dates.
